WHAT IS TITANIUM DIOXIDE?
Titanium dioxide is the chemical name for an inert pigment that has been deemed the best white pigment in the world. Its molecular formula is TiO₂ and a molecular weight of 79.90.
It is non-toxic, non-reactive, non-luminous, so it can be used to safely enhance the whiteness and brightness of various materials. It is also an excellent matting agent with a wide range of applications including the production of paints, catalytic coatings, plastics, paper, pharmaceuticals, sunscreen, food, commercial printing inks, textiles, etc.
In 1998, the first production line of anatase sulfate titanium dioxide was set up with a 30,000-ton capacity, mainly used in the production of coatings, paints, welding rods, paper and in other industries.
In 2006, the first production line of chemical fiber grade anatase sulfate was built with a 17,000-ton capacity, mainly used in the production of dull and semi-dull polyester, acrylic and nylon.
In 2018, the subsidiary HONTAI GLOBAL Co., Ltd. was established in Hong Kong. It is focus on Import & Export trading business.
In 2021, the second production line of chemical fiber grade TiO₂ was expanded to a 20,000-ton capacity. Now it has more than 50% market share in the application of polyester masterbatches in mainland China.
In September 2022, the first production line of the company’s 100,000-ton chloride process was initiated.
